In between GT4 races we take to the track at Zolder in an Audi R8 V10 road car for the WMD Euro Track Day Trophy, another of the invitational events from the race calendar of my third career season.
I only managed 15th in qualifying and although I know the track, the Audi is another new experience, so I would have my work cut out for me in the race!
By no means a perfect drive but I was happy enough with my result. The car is fun to drive although quite deceptive with it's big V10 engine and it felt very "floaty" to me and a certain lack of "feel". This may be due to the setup I was running or the force feedback settings I used. Then again this is a road car running on road tyres so you cannot expect race car levels of grip and handling. Having said all that, I enjoyed my time in the R8 and it's certainly worth taking for a spin if you haven't done so already.
